Sooke Bouldering?

LouFerrino said Thu, 19 Nov 2009 17:59:14 -0800

Hi, rumour has it that a decent quality bouldering cave can be found somewhere on the coast, right by the ocean, close to Sooke.
Anybody have any info?

Well, there's Cougar Caves, East Sooke Park, and the Sugarloaf areas, all well documented on this board, and there's the area around the Sooke Potholes. And if you take a ride out to point no point there's some nice cliffs out there, but on private land.

If you have a robust vehicle a drive out the Butler Mainline will pass several nice spots, and if you take the road to Leachtown there's some nice rock out that way, too.

Or just hunt around and follow your nose, there's lots of rock out there.
